Notice that the most influential companies in the US, and in the world, have carefully developed vision and mission statements. The vision is “what the world will look like when we are successful”, or “what we (the company) will look like when we are successful”. The mission is “what we will do to become successful”. After sampling a few vision and mission statements, we conclude that the Kingdom professional’s mission is the same as his or her God-ASSIGNMENT. The COMPLETION of the assignment would be the fulfillment of the vision. How ironic that this understanding of mission (assignment) is grasped by Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies, whereas often believers miss it! It is because often the “outsiders” to the Kingdom “get it” when “insiders” often are clueless. Jesus said that the children of this world are, in their generation, wiser than the children of the Kingdom, Luke 16:8. Corporate leaders typically have a clear sense of vision and mission – often Kingdom leaders do not. What are your, or your organization’s, vision and mission statements?
